Hi there, welcome to snoots + teefers! I’m Rhishja and I live in Tucson with three dogs, one cat, and one tortoise.
I’m a music lover, Gen Joneser, and world traveler. I’m so excited for you to meet the snoots + teefers characters!
I have always loved being creative!
By age five, I was totally obsessed with drawing the animal characters I saw on screen in early Disney movies and TV cartoons. I was soon experimenting with my own characters, and those experiments became the simple handmade cartoon style I use today.
FUN FACT: I did not know at the time that the famous Disney cartoonist George A. Rowley was actually my cousin!
But as I got older, I was drawing less and less. Once I reached university, I abandoned my creative ambitions. I majored in Government, not Art.
Fortunately, my creative side refused to be ignored. I started doing freelance graphic and web design in 2006, and my passion for creating characters re-emerged. From 2012 – 2021, my pangolin and rhino designs were featured in the World Pangolin Day and World Rhino Day logos and merch.
FUN FACT: I am the founder of World Pangolin Day.
I had the opportunity to travel as a wildlife protection advocate for a small NGO I started in 2012. I’ve been to Cambodia, England, Indonesia, Mexico, Russia, South Africa, Switzerland, Thailand, and Vietnam.
Besides snoots + teefers-ing, I like to noodle around with experimental music and I sing in a women’s chorus. I have a part-time gig with my friend’s IT company doing cool computer-y work.
